    March 5th (NFL-related)

March 5th is the deadline to renew the current CBA, collective bargaining agreement, for the NFL.

From all sides, it seems that there is no way a deal will get done by then, making 2011 an uncapped year.

Since its basically a done deal, what will the NFL turn into?

Will some teams go crazy spending, i.e. Washington or Dallas, or will most teams keep a bottom-line friendly roster in this economy?

Pittsburgh has already implemented their own cap, so they will not go crazy spending, they will continue to spend as if there were a salary cap.

Will more teams go the Pittsburgh way, and use a self-imposed salary cap, or will more teams go crazy spending and have a huge payroll?

You'll see crazy amounts of money thrown around this year with Julius Peppers, Derron Sharper, Ronnie Brown, Bobbie Williams, ect., all being unrestricted free agents.

    Re: March 5th (NFL-related)

An even better question is if they NFL will have a season in 2011-2012. As of today, I say no. If that happens, it will be the biggest screw up in the history of sports. Far more distarous than the MLB strike in the mid 90's.

there will be an NFL season

if they have to bring in scabs, they will try and play the season.

Goddell HAS to find a way to get a new CBA in before the 12-13 season, or he will go down as the worst commish in NFL history
